Inspired by the Hunterian Museum's collection of termite mounds and paper wasp nests, the Nest for Curiosities is a self-standing curiosity cabinet designed to protect your most treasured specimens and collections. Each Nest is sculpted individually from terracotta crank clay and over the course of a month, it is slowly refined and worked into. Black slip has been buffed into the textured surface of the clay to mimic the soil in which termite mounds are built. The slip also provides depth within the individual pockets helping to illuminate your displayed objects.
