The Cephalopod Vase forms the start of a new collection exploring the complex and fascinating process of wood fired ceramics.
Inspired by kelp fronds and jellyfish spied on the North West coast of Scotland, the Cephalopod vase is crafted from a rich, grogged clay and fired in a communal wood firing kiln. The clay has been left unglazed to allow the atmosphere in the wood firing kiln to decorate the piece and therefore dried flower arrangements are recommended for this piece.
