The Mycelium Plinth is a Raku-fired sculptural object suited for displaying favourite objects and holding tealights. It's form is a development from a series of ceramics created in Japan, and is influenced by the shapes of petals and leaves. The form itself has been created from Ashraf Hanna clay and coated with a clear glaze that forms black, spidery crackles when submerged into sawdust and paper scraps after firing.
Care: Due to the low firing temperature of Raku, the Mycelium Plinth is fragile and porous. It has been coated in a water resistant sealant for use with dry goods, though it is not recommended for holding water or liquids. Gentle hand-washing and wiping is recommended. Please do keep in mind that the glaze is porous enough to discolour when used with incense cones.
