The Petal Dish is a tiny, feather-light vessel inspired by a series of functional ceramics created whilst living in Japan. The dish is suited to displaying favourite collections, holding tealights and serving dressings at the table.

The Petal Dish is sculpted by hand from a ball of grogged stoneware clay and is one of four pieces available in the update which have been subsequently fired in a Wood Firing kiln. Throughout the making process it has been slowly dried and worked into to create a shape that is thin and delicate, like the sakura petals from which it takes its form. The dish has been coated with a wild glaze created from wood ash and fired in a wood firing kiln, giving the glaze a greeney-blue hue that is perfectly balanced with golden candlelight. It features a small lip to allow for dressings or Shoyu to be poured.

Care: gentle handwashing is recommended. The Petal Dish is not suitable for dishwashers, microwaves or heating in the oven.
