The Biosphere Nest is a one-off sculpture, inspired by the Hunterian Museum's collection of termite mounds and paper wasp nests. This Nest is designed to be hung upon the wall and is ready to protect your most treasured specimens and collections.

The Nest was sculpted from terracotta crank clay and, over the course of a month, slowly refined and worked into. It has been coated in a wild slip made from a precious, mica-rich clay found in Pease Bay, Scotland, which is thick and luxurious. It has a deep, metallic shimmer that is illuminated in candlelight and sunshine, and small pebbles from the clay have been caught upon the surface of the object. This gives the Nest an earthy, raw quality and provides a dark backdrop against which your treasures can shine.
