Fired over four days in the Anagama whilst on residency in Japan, The Myosotis Petal Dish is a tiny, feather-light vessel inspired by the shapes of petals and leaves. The dish is suited to displaying tiny collections and incense cones.
The Petal Dish is sculpted by hand from a ball of grogged, red clay. Fly ash has coated the piece whilst firing, giving a mottled green and grey highlight along the rim where exposed and a burnished brown on the interior where it was more hidden. Due to these conditions, it is a one-of-a-kind piece which holds within it both the fond memories from an adventure in Japan and working together within a community of potters who share the same dream: to fire the Anagama!
Care: gentle handwashing is recommended. The Petal Dish is not suitable for dishwashers, microwaves or heating in the oven.
