The Sweetpea Dish is a tiny, hand-painted dish designed for holding small treasures and tealights. Its design is inspired by the petals of Nasturtiums, Geraniums and Coneflowers which grow outside the studio during the Summer months.
The dish has been created from a ball of terracotta crank clay, carefully pinched out at varying stages as the clay dries. It features a carved foot ring and is painted with slips created from wild clay, red iron oxide stoneware and white stoneware clays, which have deepened and transformed in the kiln. Small accents of golden glaze have been added, which glimmers in the light alongside speckles in the lava-flecked clay.
Please note that due to the surface created, this dish is not intended for use with food.
