Inspired by the rounded flower heads of Hellebore plants, The White Cabbage Butterfly Box is designed to protect tiny objects and treasures within its golden interior. 
 
The box has been created from a tiny ball of terracotta crank clay,  carefully pinched out at varying stages as the clay slowly dries. It features a carefully carved foot ring and is painted with slips created from wild clay, red iron oxide stoneware and white stoneware clays, which have deepened and transformed in the kiln. Each box is an individual shape and size from the next, alongside the individual nature of the painted design. The interior of each vessel is coated in golden glaze which illuminates the treasures stored within.
